Dr. David Griffin is a captain in the fire service in Charleston, South Carolina and the owner of On A Mission LLC, which offers motivational speaking and organizational development services for public, private, and non-profit organizations internationally. He was the engineer on the first due apparatus on June 18, 2007 where nine of his fellow firefighters perished in the line of duty. He has a Bachelor of Science in education from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, a Master of Science in executive fire service leadership, and a Doctorate of Education in organizational leadership and development. Griffin is a best-selling author and featured speaker at universities, conferences, and organizations across the globe regarding his research and firsthand experience in organizational learning, leadership, development, change, and employee motivation. He has been an athlete throughout his life, playing professional baseball, competing as an amateur bodybuilder, fighting at the professional level in mixed martial arts, competing in Ironman Triathlons, and training in the CrossFit methodology.
